Our commitment

Child sexual abuse and exploitation, in any form, is never permitted on Mindknot. That covers every part of the app: shared spirals, comments, profiles, usernames, avatars and the private messages between two people.

A report of this kind is the most serious thing that can reach us. We look at it before anything else in the queue.

What is never allowed

Any of the following leads to immediate removal and a permanent ban, with no warning first.

  • Child sexual abuse material, or any link, reference or attempt to obtain or share it.
  • Sexualising a child in any way, including in writing, in a profile or in a private message.
  • Grooming, or any attempt to build a relationship with a child for sexual purposes.
  • Sextortion, or threatening to share intimate content of a young person.
  • Trafficking a child, or advertising a child for exploitation.
  • Any other behaviour that sexualises or endangers a child.

Who Mindknot is for

Mindknot is built for adults. You must be at least 13 to create an account, and older where your country sets a higher minimum age. We do not knowingly let anyone below that age use Mindknot.

If we learn an account belongs to a child under the minimum age, we remove the account and delete the data attached to it.

How we prevent and find it

Mindknot has no photo or video sharing. Spirals, comments and messages are text only, and the single image anyone can upload is their own profile picture. That closes off the most common route for this material before anything else has to catch it.

  • Shared spirals and comments pass an automated safety check before they reach the feed, and anything that trips it is removed.
  • Anyone can report a spiral, a comment or a conversation from inside the app.
  • Anyone can block another person, which ends the connection and stops all contact.
  • Reports of this kind are reviewed ahead of everything else.

How to report it

If you see anything that sexualises or endangers a child on Mindknot, report it straight away. You do not need to be sure, and you will never be in trouble for reporting something in good faith.

  • In the app, use Report on the spiral, comment or conversation.
  • By email, write to support@mindknot.me with CHILD SAFETY in the subject line so it reaches us immediately.

What happens next

Where we confirm a violation we remove the content, permanently ban the account, and preserve the relevant records so they can be given to the authorities.

We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and we cooperate fully with law enforcement and with the competent authority in the country involved.

If a child is in danger right now

Contact your local emergency services first. They can act faster than we can. Then report it to us so we can take the account down and preserve what an investigation would need.

Contact us

Child safety reports are handled directly by the founder, not a queue. Write to support@mindknot.me with CHILD SAFETY in the subject line and it will be treated as urgent. We aim to reply within one business day.
